This was a great tour in Skagway, AK to see Tagish Lake Kennels. The tour guide, Harry, was very informative and gave great facts and history as we drove to see the dogs. The scenery was just beautiful and worth the drive. The kennel is not a fancy one, but the 14 puppies were fun and there were some adult dogs to pet as well. One of the owners, Michelle Phillips, gave us some information about dog sledding and the Iditarod and then loaded us in a side by side motorized vehicle, hitched up the dogs and they led us in up a hill, around a large pond for about a 10 minute ride. Don’t expect Siberian Husky dogs. We were told these are Alaskan Huskies and they are a mix of several breeds. They are thin, strong, and fast, and not the kinds of dogs we see in movies. It was a very fun experience and we learned a lot! Great for all ages.
