My family took the 3/4 day rafting trip starting in Durango. We were 7 people with two kids 11and under. The trip was so much fun. Our guide, Ben, was amazing and I would recommend asking for him if you book a trip. He was knowledgeable, fun and knew how to make the trip fun for each person. He went out of his way to make sure even the youngest child got a great ride. The rapids were fun and no problem for kids. The lunch stop was good, food was great and we even swam in the river. It was a great experience and everyone can’t wait to go again.

I was hesitant about rafting as the other 2 experiences I had with my family were not guide led and it scared me when my husband fell out and went under the boat. Genevieve was super helpful telling us all of the options, and our guide Dillon was great - his stories, excellent maneuvering of the boat, and overall friendly nature made this adventure much more pleasant and not fear inducing like in the past. We did the half day, and while I now think the full day would be fun, it was an adequate length with a nice snack of cut up apples, oranges, and cups of water at rest stop along the river. The half body wet suit and boots were an excellent way to stay comfortable when the cold river splashed us (only $7 for the suit and $5 for the boots) and if I had been in front (I was in back and didn't get wet up top) I would have opted to wear the free shirt they loan anyone who wants one to stay warm and dry. The bus ride to the launch was short and only a few minutes longer on the way back, but the staff made it fun. I highly recommend Mild2Wild and look forward to return trips. :)
