What To Expect

Waimea Bay

Waimea Bay is located in Haleiwa on the North Shore of O'ahu in the Hawaiian Islands at the mouth of the Waimea River. Waimea Valley extends behind Waimea Bay. Waimea means "reddish water" in Hawaiian. During the winter months, the towering North Shore waves start here in Waimea Bay. The winter swells that roll into the famous Oahu North Shore beaches, generally top out at Waimea Beach Park, on the right-hand side of the bay.

North Shore

Surfing the Bay, along with Sunset Beach and the Banzai Pipeline, is considered almost a pilgrimage among many pro-surfers that fly in from all around the world to partake in the daring action. The fun generally begins when the National Weather Service issues high surf warnings for the North Shore.

This tour company was amazing! We had the best guides. Lily and crew were so knowledgeable about the whales and got just as excited as we did when we saw them. We were fortunate to see a mama and baby whale. Jacob made it even better by sending up his drone so we could see them bird's eye. EPIC!!

We had an amazing time with the amazing crew at Ocean Outfitters. We saw several whales, a Galapagos shark, a turtle and even some flying fish. The ladies were so knowledgeable and friendly and the music was spot on. Highly recommended

We had a Marine Life Tour booked for 9 am and recieved a phone call asking if we could move it to 4:45 pm. I asked if we'd still be able to see a lot of animals and they said "definitely, they're actually more active at that time" so we said yes. The company was not honest in this as throughout our night tour, the guides kept saying that the animals are not as active at night. Throughout the whole tour, we only saw 3 whale blowhole sprays in the distance and nothing else. No whales breaching the surface, no turtles, no sharks.
