What To Expect

St. Helena's Anglican Church

Our guest will here the role the church played in Beaufort's History from its founding in 1712, they will see the grave yard from the carriage and hear about some of Beaufort's founding fathers, & soldiers who gave there all who are buried there.

Our tour will meander on the backstreets of Old Beaufort's Historic District and pass by century old live oak trees draped in spanish moss, Antebellum & Victorian Houses and Churches, Beautiful Gardens all from the comfort of our beautiful Blue Carriages pulled by our Gentle Giants. Relax and enjoy the clippity clop of the horses feet while your guide shares Beaufort's 300+ years of history, folklore, legends & Hollywood movie tales. From the early Colonial settlements, American Revolution, Plantation life of the Antebellum South, Civil War, Reconstruction Period, the 20th century through today Beaufortonians have always been involved in every major period of American History.

The Point

The tour meanders slowly through this neighborhood under the branches of the beautiful old live oak trees draped in Spanish Moss. Most of the Antebellum & Victorian Houses & lovely little cottages are located in the Old Point Neighborhood of Beaufort.

This tour is worth every penny! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The horse was calm and provided such a smooth ride. The historical homes and streets were gorgeous. The tour provided both historical and movie facts. Would definitely recommend and would even take again if in the area.

We had a few hours on our way to Savannah and the Golden Isles and decided to stop in Beaufort - a great choice. The tour was great fun and very educational. Unfortunately, the guide's name escapes me, but she kept the tour very interesting with her stories, insights and great humor. For some reason, the tour was running backwards so she needed to get a few prompts from the driver (and apparently her longtime friend). My wife and I greatly enjoyed the time we spent learning about the history and the "insider" tidbits shared during our tour. We highly recommend this tour. The historic district is well worth visiting if you anywhere nearby.

Anastasia our guide was great!! Very informative with a great sense of humor. I would have liked to stop along the way to take pictures. Overall a great tour.
