What To Expect

St. Helena's Anglican Church

Our guest will here the role the church played in Beaufort's History from its founding in 1712, they will see the grave yard from the carriage and hear about some of Beaufort's founding fathers, & soldiers who gave there all who are buried there.

Our tour will meander on the backstreets of Old Beaufort's Historic District and pass by century old live oak trees draped in spanish moss, Antebellum & Victorian Houses and Churches, Beautiful Gardens all from the comfort of our beautiful Blue Carriages pulled by our Gentle Giants. Relax and enjoy the clippity clop of the horses feet while your guide shares Beaufort's 300+ years of history, folklore, legends & Hollywood movie tales. From the early Colonial settlements, American Revolution, Plantation life of the Antebellum South, Civil War, Reconstruction Period, the 20th century through today Beaufortonians have always been involved in every major period of American History.

The Point

The tour meanders slowly through this neighborhood under the branches of the beautiful old live oak trees draped in Spanish Moss. Most of the Antebellum & Victorian Houses & lovely little cottages are located in the Old Point Neighborhood of Beaufort.

Even though I was born and raised in Beaufort, I learn something new every time from this tour. The staff and guides are always friendly and knowledgeable. They take time with their new staff to train them properly and really put them at ease. Everyone seems to enjoy what they do. I highly recommend this tour to all of my friends and anyone who loves history.

I hate to throw someone under the bus (or in this case under the carriage) but the tour was awful. We had two guides (I don't know if that is typical or not) but one was very experienced (Anastasia) and other was a trainee who was in no way ready to face paying customers It became painfully obvious that the trainee was not ready because she kept "forgetting her words" (as she said) and the experienced guide would take over and was awesome but then turn it over to the trainee again and it was back to bad! The experienced guide was great and this made the trainee appear even less effective and made me wish I had booked a different tour.
