I really didn’t know what to expect on this boat ride.
First, the company itself has a sweet setup while awaiting the tour. There’s a restaurant available, which we did not eat in, however, it was a nice option. There were several things to do while waiting - A gift shop, a pen with baby alligators, a butterfly sanctuary, which had some beautiful, u usual butterflies, a gold panning area, and a nice waiting area under the trees. There was no cost to participate in most of these activities,
Captain Wayne was on our boat. He was GREAT. He was very knowledgeable, laid back, informative, and made us all feel safe. The boat goes out into a lake. There are no trees, just lily pads and rushes. Sometimes we went fast, sometimes he stopped so we could view nearby alligator. We saw several alligators and he told us about their habits and lifestyle. There were many types of birds. We even saw an Eagle with a fish in its mouth. There is no cover to protect you from the sun, but we did not get hot because it was a mild day and the boat cools you off while zipping around. The seats were very comfortable. They had ear muffs for sound protection, which was nice because the engine was noisy. We were on the hour long ride, which went by very quickly.
If you want to do something different and go out in nature and see alligators in their habitat, I highly recommend this tour. It’s not a thrill ride, but it was so interesting and easy and fun.
