The experience started out nice but ended quickly with the broken car alongside the curb.
My husband and i rented 2 cars for 1 hour excursion. Within the first 10 minutes the car i was driving experienced the engine problems. When giving the car gas it would barely move. The car would not accelerate and sputtered. After 10 min into the ride we felt its safer to turn around and return to the rental office. The car had moments when it would move but also left me stranded in the middle of the intersection. We pulled to the side and called for assistance as it was unsafe to be on the road anymore.
After a while, the operator came to check on the situation. He recognized the fact that the car is broken and said that maybe it was caused by the rain. Never, upon renting, did he mention that water can be of concern to the gas vehicle (we originally wanted to rent the electric vehicle, and he said they dont rent them when it's raining, but nothing about gas vehicles).
From there he asked if we can try to follow him back to the office. On the way to the office, my husband's car started to have the same issues....
Upon arrival at the office the operator looked at us and said that we are done.
When we inquired about the refund, we were told that he was able to bring us back and we are notmo eligible for any refund.
I was stunned by that answer!
We were able to drive for 10 min only, stuck in unsafe situations. No enjoyment at all! He clearly recognized the car didn't operate as supposed, had to wait along the curb in the rain for 30 min for him to come and "escort" us back.
He became rude and unpleasant. I asked if i can speak with the owner. He declined.
We left as any further conversation was pointless.
