Overview

Cypress Island is unique among the hundreds of amazing islands here in the San Juan archipelago. It is one of the crown-jewels of the San Juan Islands National Monument. Over 90% of this large island has been set aside as a Conservation Area and a Natural Area Preserve. Due to the protected status, there is an abundance of wildlife surrounding the island. Miles of trails are available to explore, some leading to stunning overlooks and others lead to private coves with pebble beaches.

Few commercial companies venture to Cypress Island due to the challenges of where they operate from. Anacortes Kayak Tours is perfectly situated to enable them to escort a lucky few people to the "last best place" in the San Juan Islands.

No ferry hassles are necessary to join this trip. You can drive right to us on Fidalgo Island due to bridges that connect us to the mainland. Make the most of your valuable time and join us!

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Travelers over 265 pounds in weight, or over 6 feet 5 inches in height may not be comfortable in our kayaks. Please call if you have questions. Thank you!
We will be carrying all of our equipment in the kayaks, therefore if traveling with children we ask that there is one adult per child. We can make special arrangements occasionally, please call.
This trip is conducted in tandem (2 person) kayaks. Singles are available for an additional fee of $50/day. Must be reserved in advance, and participants must be at least 18 years old.

Was looking for something more exciting and adventurous for my milestone birthday, and this was it! Having never been to the San Juan Islands this trip turned out to be dreamy and magical! Cole, our wonderful guide, took exceptional care in getting us to our destination, Cypress Island. The scenery along the way was breathtaking! From camp set up to meal times, he made sure we had everything we needed to make our trip a comfortable and memorable one. The views from the beach where we camped were absolutely gorgeous! As was the old growth forest we hiked through to get us to some of the most spectacular views we've ever seen! There was so much to explore in and around this gem of an island. We will be back! We highly recommend AKT for an unforgettable kayaking experience!

Anacortes Kayak Tours offer wonderful catered kayak trips in the San Juan Islands. The 2 night/3 day trip to Cypress Island was wonderful. Sean Miller and Kati Moscati were terrific, hard working guides who made the trip fun. Small group size, plenty of paddling, and lots of opportunities to hike the trails. I will book with Anacortes Kayak Tours again. Love getting on the water with them. Christine P.
