Gettysburg National Military Park

The Battle of Gettysburg, a turning point in the Civil War, was the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion," Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address."

Devils Den

Devils Den is a rock formation that can be explored by the whole family. Located in the middle of Gettysburg National Military Park below Little Round Top.

Little Round Top

The bus and driver were just fine and tour content interesting, but the delivery was offensively sarcastic and brash throughout. The guide, Paul, lost me at the beginning of the tour with the only civilian casualty of the war, a 20 year old baking bread, named Jennie Wade. “But she was only a woman.” “ Just kidding.” And it continued throughout the entire 2 hours. In such a somber and historic site where so many lives were lost, this sad attempt at humor necessitates immediate sensitivity training.

The tour was excellent and both the bus driver and the guide were very knowlegeable. They were careful to make sure everyone was present and accounted for. It rained a little but we were always on the bus! Great timing. How'd they know that? lol
