Gettysburg National Military Park

Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion," Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address."

Devils Den

Devils Den is a rock formation that can be explored by the whole family. Located in the middle of Gettysburg National Military Park below Little Round Top.

We did the bus tour on our second day (of seven) in Gettysburg. It was very informative and showed the hi-lights of the three day battle. We enjoyed it enough to then purchase the car CD and drive ourselves with our dog, stopping at each site for a more indepth history. I would recommend doing both if you have the time.

My husband were first time visitors and decided to do the bus tour. Our guide (I believe his name was Dave) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining. My only wish was that we could have stopped at more than 2 locations. I would have gladly paid for an additional hour to stop at a couple more places. The driver was friendly and helpful, the bus was clean and comfortable, and we could clearly hear the whole presentation. Would recommend.

The tour guide was very informative. He went out of his way to show us where our ancestor had fought at Peach Orchard and some other sights after the bus tour was over. It is well worth it.
