The Gettysburg Battlefield Bus Tour is a great way to get acquainted with the battlefield before setting off on your own (or to see all the high points if you are pressed for time). It covers the entire thing, from first day of battle to the last, and you travel in comfort, with air conditioning. There is a bathroom stop midway through, and we got out and were able to walk around at the first day battlefield where Reynolds was killed and at Little Round Top. The pickup point is across from the National Cemetery. The day we went our driver was the friendly and competent Elva and our tour guide was the eminently knowledgeable and entertaining Dave Richards. He is passionate on the subject of Gettysburg and even helped me identify a spot where I had my picture taken as a toddler in 1970! What made things even better was the fact that, as my husband is Deaf, I had requested a sign language interpreter . . . and they got us one. This doesn't always happen. The interpreter was very skilled and friendly and Elva and Dave were so flexible and willing to work with her in terms of the logistics of where she and my husband would sit, and how she would work. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and informative experience and I am grateful to the company for having such great employees and for accommodating my husband.

Definitely worth the price and a great way to get an overview of the battlefield before checking it out on your own. Get the book first to give you a background on what you see.

we had 1 day to visit Gettysburg. My husband had never been there but was always interested in the civil war. Our tour guide was very informative and you could almost visualize the battles as she described the 3 day battle. could never have gotten that much insight on my owned.
