Gettysburg National Military Park

The Battle of Gettysburg, a turning point in the Civil War, was the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion," Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address."

Devils Den

Devils Den is a rock formation that can be explored by the whole family. Located in the middle of Gettysburg National Military Park below Little Round Top.

Little Round Top

We’ve done this tour two years in a row. I had an 8-year-old and 5-year-old with me, and they LOVED it both times. Because it was two hours long, I was afraid they might get bored, but the guide is such a good storyteller that you really picture what was happening. It is a great way to start the trip to get an overview of the enormous battlefield—it helped us decide what we wanted to revisit/spend more time at. There are two brief stops, one halfway through for a potty/snack break and one at Little Round Top. If you go in the hotter months, the sunset tour is both beautiful and cooler in the sticky weather. Get a seat on the upper deck—the scenery is spectacular, and you won’t be disappointed!

I believe our guide's name was Paul. He did an incredible job of making the tour interesting and informative. He made history come alive. I could tell he really enjoyed what he did.

Our driver was great. The tour guide was inappropriate. Strange comments about the fallen. Seemed to want to shock with descriptions of gore. Threatened to leave customers behind at each spot where they could leave the bus.
