It was a good basic overview. Of course, you canā€™t cover the entire 3 day battle within a 2-day bus tour. But they do a good job within the time allotted to give visitors a good understanding of the battle. Our Guide was knowledgeable, interactive, and patient.

Thanks for the review. You are correct it is hard to cover everything in a 2 hour period. Glad you enjoyed the tour.

We did not plan ahead for a private guide so signed up for this tour. Though we got a sense of the various battles during the three day Gettysburg conflict our guide, Dean, spoke so fast that it was hard to understand him. He kept looking at his watch trying to get in all his words. The bus was a full sized tour bus and was quite noisy and the audio system had a lot of static. At one point the driver had the bus in reverse (or something) and there was a constant beeping for about two minutes while the guide was talking. The whole experience was hard on the ears. The company should use electric buses so that perhaps the noise level would be tolerable. I donā€™t know if The Gettysburg Foundation Tours are any better. They are less costly because you can get a package of a tour, museum entrance, film and cyclorama for $42. As seniors, we had to pay $35 to the tour comoany and $14 to the Foundation for the other three components for a total of $56 per person. If you are two people I would try a private tour for $70.
