Our guide was fun, energized, informative and helpful, he gave us tips on how to best navigate our (shared) kayak. Without him it would have been hard to get over a giant tree that was blocking the path. Our kayak was light and moved smoothly and easily through the water. The only downside for us is that the water was dark rusty brown (due to tannins from a certain tree variety and a lot of rain) so we couldnā€™t see through our fancy clear kayak (bummer) until we got to the springs - where we got out and didnā€™t need the clear kayak anyway. For us the see through kayaks werenā€™t worth it. October might be a better month for clear waters.

Thanks for exploring with us at Rock Springs! Weā€™re so glad you enjoyed your time out on the water with your tour guide. With all of the storms weā€™ve been experiencing, it has caused some branches and trees to make our paddle a bit more adventurous! The water clarity is dependent on the weather and rain - the change in color is from high water levels due to our recent weather and the clarity fluctuates almost daily during the rainy season. Even though the water is a darker brown color, it is still clear and you can see down to the bottom through our clear kayaks. There's an area at the top of the paddle where the water is always a beautiful blue color and we take a longer break here for guests to enjoy the refreshing water. Thanks again for exploring with us!
