I've been on a kayak before but this was my first time against a current and for more than a mile. Our guide, Austin, was a terrific leader, calling out encouragement and giving good instruction when needed. He was also really great with my 12 year old son (who paddled circles around us!). I would say the Rock Springs tour is good for first timers because the water is shallow and clear, you make several stops to rest and enjoy the cool spring water, and you can float with the current for a relaxing trip back (we were treated to a warm Florida rain shower, lol). The one obstacle, a downed tree, was just enough to make it interesting without being too challenging (Austin helped us all over). Oh and the clear kayaks are neat! Somehow I also felt safer being able to see what was all around and under me, too!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to share your experience with us!! Austin is awesome! We're so glad you and your son enjoyed your tour with him! That float down always makes the paddle against the spring so worth it!! :) Gotta love those FL sun showers!! We love that you were able to use the visibility of the kayaks to be able to enjoy the views all around you! We hope to explore with you both again soon!

A perfect trip for intermediate, novice and beginner kayakers. The two person kayaks are a great way for couples, friends and family members to develop that concept called teamwork. We had a fun experience and I highly recommend the experience to others. Austin was terrific.
