My wife and I took the 2.5 hour tour on a Friday afternoon. Wes was great in teaching us how to operate the Segway, and was very safety conscious. The Segway was very easy to learn, since it has no controls, a computer and gyroscope senses your body attitude and reacts accordingly. The tour of downtown Asheville was very interesting, and Wes has a wealth of information about the City and it's history. Take this tour, we both highly recommend it. By the way, I am 60 and my wife is 56, so anyone can learn to ride the Segway!!!

If you are interested in exploring Asheville in a very interesting way and have always wanted to try (or try again) riding a Segway, then this is the outing for you. My wife and I had a great experience last week with a tour led by Wes. He was knowledgeable about the area but didn't do what too many tour guides do, which is to make "stuff" up when he didn't know the answer to a question. It was also really amazing how many people we passed on our tour that called out to him by name. One such person warned us that we should watch our wallets, but he was clearly a friend just joking around and seeking a laugh. One thing that I particularly appreciated was Wes' patience with members of our group that were nervous about riding the Segway. He made it seem safe (which it is) and fun (which it also is). All in all this was a great experience and one that I can recommend without hesitation.

This is a great way to get to learn the layout and history of Asheville. Wes is very personable and knowledgeable. Tours are limited to groups of 4 which makes it seem like a personal tour. Wes was very flexible about the tour, taking us to a local coffee shop after 1.5 hours for a little break. There was also a music festival going on up the street that we wanted to check out, so Wes even took us up there. Whether you've ridden Segways before or are a rookie, this tour is a "don't miss"! Prices are reasonable as well.
