2 Hour Paddle to the Sandbar & Mangroves

Overview
This is a half-day rental. It is not a guided tour. We are on the bay, not the Gulf. The water is much calmer. Your destination is about a mile away. John's Pass has sandbars, islands, dolphins, manatees, and more. It's a popular place to paddle.

Beach your kayak or sup on the sandbar and soak up the sun. Search for the mangrove tunnel. Watch ships sail under the span and work on your tan.

You don't have to meet us at a slippery public boat ramp! We have free parking and a private floating dock. Our shop called The BoatDega has snacks, drinks, and restrooms. We can set you up with a cooler and fill it with ice. You also have the option to reserve an Easy Snorkel. Swim in the shallow water by the sandbar and search for seashells.

Nice day for kayaking, enjoyed the river. The man who was working to set us up was not very helpful or friendly. He did not offer and guidance for the trip. We got lucky finding the desired stops on the trip, no thanks to him. We had to get our boats out of the water ourselves at the end of the trip, a little treacherous. No one was monitoring boaters who arrived back at the starting place.

We have a map to the destination which is located right on the gate to the dock. The route is explained to each guest. If guests come back to the dock before they are scheduled, we don't always see them, but it's very easy to tell someone at the shop. It's also easy to set the kayak on the floating dock. What did the man do that was not helpful or friendly?

Great paddle to John's pass and Eleanor Island. Staff made it super easy to check in. Saw dolphins, manatees and sea urchins and more! Check them out!

The actual excursion and trip was amazing. We saw dolphins about 3 feet always from us in our kayaks. The sandbar was really nice, and getting to the place was easy. Why I rated it 4 stars was because upon check in our host was very impersonal. It was as if we were an inconvenience to him. I felt so rushed through the process that we didn’t even get to grab drinks to take with us. I thought we were going to be provided a map to use on the water instead I had to use my phone, we only got one water bag, even though we rented 2 kayaks. He said once I keep heading straight I will see the sandbar. When I asked if this was the area where we could grab food he said no it’s a sandbar. I get that!!! I wanted to know exactly where to grab lunch because it was stated we could dock kayaks to grab a bite at St. John’s pass. He never proceeded to tell us where to eat or he a maybe a drink. He was so impersonal. Like we are tourist and don’t know this area at all. Besides his interaction everything was great. We went to the sandbar, but didn’t feel comfortable eating at the places due to we weren’t instructed what to do with the kayaks. Upon getting back it was a struggle to get out of the kayaks. I put them on the dock because I was not told what to do when when returned. The man in the store was a new one. I told him about where I put the kayaks. He was a delight and so friendly, he even recommended places to eat and told me where to park for beach access.
