2-Hour Private Hilton Head Afternoon Dolphin Watching Sail

Overview

This 2 hour Private Afternoon Sailing tour will take us to Port Royal Sound (generally the best wind for sailing on Hilton Head) on the North side of the island. During the day, this is generally filled with exciting winds for great sailing along with the beautiful scenery and wildlife such as dolphins, birds, sting ray and Manatee are some of the great things we get to see on a very regular basis. This is a Monohull Sailboat which means it will heal over (completely normal but very exciting - designed not to tip over!). All this without the noise of the motor in the back ground - we like to sail not motor sail!!!

We want our guest to be very comfortable on board our vessel known as "Knot the Office" and therefore if anyone is uncomfortable with the healing we can significantly reduce the healing to ensure everyone is comfortable.

This is a fun and exciting activity but yet very relaxing and rewarding at the same time.

My husband doesn't swim and this was his first time in a sailboat ever, so for him it was a good first experience. I've been sailing a number of times and for me it was a little tame, but I appreciated the efforts of Captains Paul and Trent to provide a nice experience on this afternoon excursion. My favorite thing about it was we had the boat to ourselves- that's what you pay for because this excursion isn't cheap. But again, for my husband's first ever sailing experience, he enjoyed the explanations regarding the workings of a sailboat and watching Paul and Trent work together to sail us around on the water. We did see a few dolphins, but they were in and out of the water so quickly, it was hard to capture them. Trent said, "they're camera shy, almost as if they dive back down when they see someone hold up a camera!" I liked how they set up deck chairs for us on the cruise out of the marina so we could sit forward, and I appreciated them taking some photos of us on the boat. A nice mellow experience on the water.

Thank you for the review. I am glad your husband had a good first experience sailing on a private sailing excursion. I am sorry the dolphins were not staying up longer for you guys, as they are wild creatures and they ultimately do what they want to do. It sounds as if our wind was not cooperating either and therefore giving us a lighter sailing experience. I apologize for that as well however that is also out of our control. It does sound like you enjoyed everything else that we can control and we are glad that is the case.
