Our lead boat, Kaulana, is the largest, most UNCROWDED whale watching boat on Maui! We offer each guest plenty of room to roam around, for the very best view of Maui's humpback whales.

Our big, spacious boat and can follow the whales in comfort, no matter where they roam, throughout the Humpback Whale Sanctuary. This is the SAFEST and MOST COMFORTABLE way to experience up-close whale encounters.

Every 2 hour trip includes LIVE NARRATION from one of our whale experts, and conveniently departs from Lahaina Harbor, close by to all West Maui resorts.

Dress appropriately. Viewing whales is often best done outside on the viewing decks. Wear sunscreen, secure hats and belongings and dress for breezy "on the water" conditions
Maximum capacity is 145 passengers
Tour operator reserves the right to substitute vessels, routes and destinations based on vessel operations, weather and sea conditions without notice
Due to new Homeland Security Procedures all passengers may be subject to a random search of their personal effects (including carry ons) and all passengers must be able to provide identification upon the request of vessel personnel as proof of his/her identity. Due to these changes it is imperative that each guest have a valid ID with them at all times.
Check-in minimum 30 minutes prior to departure of tour at the Lahaina Cruise Company booth on the Main Loading Dock, next to construction site.
Secure your parking before check-in time as 3-hour free parking & pay parking lots are monitored for citations. All are within a few minutes walk to check-in point.
Tour boarding begins and closes 10 minutes before departure.
Departures leave promptly at designated times to avoid delays on return times.
Full refunds are eligible with 24-hr notice. Less than 24-hr notice due to medical circumstances a doctor visit note may be required for a full refund.
Motorized Wheelchairs are not accessible on our vessel for gangway crossing
Collapsible Wheelchairs 24" wide are accessible on our vessel for gangway crossing - must have companion for assistance
Some restrictions may apply for Wheelchair accessibility - call us for further details before booking
Regularly sanitised high-traffic areas
Guides required to regularly wash hands
Masks and Social Distance will be at the discretion of each guest but not required.

I found this trip very exciting. We saw two sets of competitive pods (males fighting for the female). Crew was great. We went on the 12:00 noon boat. There were only about 15 people on the boat so we didn't have the crowds like the earlier boats. Great trip. Would highly recommend.

Great captain and plenty of opportunities to see active humpbacks in January...even watched a mother teaching her calf how to splash its tail. A little disappointed that we were "upgraded" to a larger boat due to the fact that a cruise ship had docked and off loaded a huge amount of passengers. Regardless, the larger boat was still able to get us out and among the whales quiet well.

We had a great time on the boat and got to see whale come right up to the boat. The guide was very informative and the boat was top notch. This is a must see trip when in Maui during Whale season.
