2 Hours Boat Tour in Louisiana Bayous Near New Orleans

Overview
One of the smallest boat tours in the area, guests feel personally engaged even on a full boat. This is more than a fun tour for all ages, it is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Guests get a once in a lifetime glimpse of life on these bayous that only the locals know. Taken through several waterways, guests learn about everything they see, the ecosystem, local culture, local wildlife (especially alligators), and could encounter recreational or commercial fishermen in action. The only Parish 100% affected by Hurricane Katrina, guests will see and learn details of the flood, and the wall built after Hurricane Katrina to separate and protect our community from the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, the cause of our area flooding.

A stop at our camp on the bayou (which can only be accessed by water) serves as a restroom stop. Adult guests have the option to arrive prior to their experience or stay afterwards, to step inside the bayou bar on site to possibly meet and talk to the locals.

We went on the boat tour with a large group of friends for a birthday party and Captain George was wildly entertaining and knowledgeable about the critters and denizens of the surrounding waterways. The tour was about 2 hours with a pit stop in the middle at his awesome cabin. When we returned, we had boiled crawfish and crabs, boudin balls, spinach dip and crab cakes, all prepared by his lovely wife, Samantha and Linda (also the bartender). The food was so good, I had to take home some white beans and crab cakes! Just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Da Pope Bar was a great place to gather and just hang out with the locals. Great prices, too!

Captain George was great fun. The tour of the bayou and canals was great too. We stopped back into the bar and met a group of great locals. Had some mushrooms, crabcake and jalapeno poppers a couple of cocktails and few laughs.
