First, let me say that renting a golf cart at South Padre is fun. However it's also another responsibility. As a tourist you may accidentally park where you shouldn't , and if the cart gets towed, it's 300.00 dollars to get it out. There are lots of predatory tow trucks, hungry to grab your cart the minute they spot it anywhere near a tow sign, and they are EVERYWHERE! There's no place to park near the beach when it's crowded, so you're better off just driving your car around. Secondly, the cart I got was damaged, front grill was crooked and hanging, and the brakes were out. Also, it barely ran, and I'm pretty sure it was the slowest cart in South Padre. The rental staff were nice, but they were understaffed, and the owner of course was no where around. I will never rent one again. There's no advantage to it and you can't go anywhere a car cant. I found myself stuck in traffic on the cart, feeling like I was in the middle of Tijuana, not South Padre. Man has that place changed. Anyway, I dont recommend it.
