Getting up close to the glacier. The captain and crew were really good. Having a park ranger with commentary was helpful, and he was very accessible, for answering questions.

My husband and I went on the 26 Glacier Cruise September 20th. It was very foggy and very rainy in Whittier when we arrived and upon getting on the boat. So we were afraid we wouldn't be able to see anything, and at first we couldn't. Thankfully it did clear up when we got to the large tidewater glaciers though! We definitely didn't see 26 glaciers (due to the weather) but we did see quite a few and some of them were truly incredible. One calved some decent size pieces while we were there which was really neat. We also saw quite a few seals as well. Food was decent, and the glacier margaritas (made with glacier ice that they pulled from the water!) were delicious. The downside to the cruise is the fact that if there's only 2 of you you will most likely be assigned to a tiny table with 2 complete strangers. Imagine sitting face to face at a small table directly across from complete strangers for 5 hours. Talk about awkward. Despite that, it was still a really neat trip. Being that close to massive glaciers was beyond amazing. Definitely an experience we will never forget!

Outstanding experience looking at glaciers in Prince William Sound. Was impressed on all accounts: the boat, the captain, crew, lunch, etc…. Especially impressed that Phillips Cruise Lines contracts with the forest service for a forest ranger on board with extra narration. Loni was our ranger and she did a fabulous job. We saw a lot of wildlife and even saw a whale on the way back to Whittier.
