This vessel operates in exposed water ways. Rough and bumpy conditions can occur unexpectedly. This tour is not recommended if you have a condition that can be impacted by such conditions.

What To Expect

Dyea

We will take a short pause in Dyea, the historic gateway to the Chilkoot Trail, which was pivotal during the 1898 Gold Rush. You will have the opportunity to see the same views that greeted the early miners upon their arrival. Along our way we will stop in Nahku Bay where the Sailing Vessel Bark Canda was finally laid to rest and interesting story of piracy.

Skagway

We will travel 15 miles down the Lynn Canal the deepest fjord in North America and visit around 15 spectacular waterfalls; we'll bring the boat in as close as possible to provide you with an intimate experience. Waterfalls are not the only we'll be looking at so expect stops for our resident wildlife.

Haines

Taiyasanka Harbor is a rare natural harbor that was created by the last ice age. We stop here to take a moment to enjoy the picturesque scenery and have a snack of Alaska smoked salmon, a local delicacy. We Continue on looking for wildlife and stopping off at one of our largest falls.

Luke provided a fantastic boat ride view of beautiful waterfalls. He added fascinating local history and tidbits that made this a very memorable experience. Tours are run with small groups (ours had 6 total), so it felt like an escape from the cruise ship crowd. Wonderful experience, and a highlight of our Alaskan tour!

We took a last minute detour off the Alaska Hwy to Skagway. Got there and asked about a last minute boat tour and got recommended to Captain Luke. I’m not usually one for tours I like to explore on my own but when you don’t have a boat you take a tour. My son and I had a blast and Captain Luke was just amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Very laid back tour and he stopped often pointing out Bald eagles and seals. The water falls were amazing as well. Great time and highly recommend. Well worth the price paid.
