What To Expect

Black Canyon River Adventures

Your adventure begins on the outskirts of Boulder City in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. You will travel down the Lower Portal Road, the original road used by the construction workers of the Hoover Dam to board the raft. Three hours are spent exploring 12-miles of history, beauty and wonder as you glide through the Black Canyon National Water Trail. Experience the waterfalls, hot springs and other geological wonders. This trip is fully narrated by experienced, knowledgeable guides who offer incredible history of the Hoover Dam and the Back Canyon National Water trail. A refreshing stop along the way at a side beach will give you the opportunity to stretch your legs, swim or play in the cool clear water of the Colorado River. Lunch is included in a take-home, insulated souvenir bag. Your tour will end at the Willow Beach Marina in the scenic Mohave desert of Arizona, where you will board your shuttle back to where you started from. ~ Don't Forget Your Camera ~

We had a great time on this rafting trip. We were able to see Hoover Dam from the water which was a great experience. Floating in the black canyon was beautiful. We were able to stop and get off the raft for lunch and get in the water if you wanted. The water is very cold. Lunch was good. We stopped one more time to get off the raft. This was just an amazing experience

So we were supposed to be going to antelope Canyon by plane with Papillion who called us the night before to let us know that the trip is no longer going. As you can imagine, not really happy with them! Especially since we had this trip booked for months. However, I feel like we really lucked out! I saw this on vegas.com and booked it on a whim since we no longer had an activity that day. Everything about this tour was well done and easy to navigate. Our tour guide ended up being truly wonderful and very knowledgeable. Best of all, we were the only ones on the river at the base of the dam and the only ones on a raft the entire day. Everybody else we saw were in kayaks. (which also sounds like fun!) lunch was nice and we got a souvenir cooler bag. This was just a spectacular day and we really enjoyed every minute of it!
