Matthew was an excellent host and tour guide for our family of 9. He anticipated every need before and during the tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the history. Museums, nature, culture center, landmarks, scenic views--this tour has it all. Matthew went out of his way to show us lots of local sights where the tour buses don't go, and showed us so much of the beautiful city of Ketchikan. You won't regret this tour.

This tour was great for my cousin, aunt (who uses a walker and oxygen) and I. I do think it would be a bit tame if you were looking for more activity. We saw some beautiful native artwork and totems, visited a gift shop, and did a driving tour of the downtown area and the salmon hatchery, as well as seeing a large waterfall. It was raining pretty hard for most of the tour. Dale and Paul were very kind and helpful to my aunt, and we kind of tailored the trip for her, which was fine. I got the impression that we could have done a lot more hiking if we'd wanted to, but that's the beauty of a private tour. We did get to see a bear! But not a lot of other wildlife. This was the only tour in Alaska that we did that was actually led by people who lived there - the rest were led by summer transplants, some very young, so I appreciated that they knew the area well.
