We went on a half hour airboat ride, I think this is enough time for the experience. We only saw 1 alligator but this was because it was so hot but we did see lots of different birds. We didn't book as you don't need to for the half hour ride. We were lucky and managed to get on a boat within 40 minutes of arriving. Our guide wasn't the best and didn't really say a lot about what was around. He was happy to answer questions but only really interacted with us when we asked questions. It would have been a better experience if he would've told us a bit about the wildlife area etc. There were a couple of other activities to do whilst we were waiting which was nice. We tried the mining for gems which is a nice way to pass the time and not very expensive to do. We paid $8 for 'pay dirt' and we got a lot of gems from it which my Son was very pleased with!! We didn't try the restaurant so I can't comment on this but it looked nice. All in all it was a great experience and I would happily go back but it is definitely not an all day activity.

I was glad we were able to see some alligators and the kids enjoyed doing the other activities while we waited. I think we could have seen alligators out of the water if we waited until a cooler part of the day. We went out at 11:45 AM. The airboat ride was fun and would be something we would do again.

It was a gorgeous day and cool enough that the alligators were out sunning themselves. Captain Randy was knowledgeable and friendly.
