4 Day Half Dome Backpacking

Overview

Our 4-day Half Dome guided backpacking tours are specially designed to make your journey to the summit as spectacular as possible! This guided tour kicks off in Yosemite Valley. From there we’ll hit the trail and guests will hike and camp alongside fabled waters like Sunrise Lakes or the Merced River. Our expert guides make your experience 5-star with delicious camp-cooked cuisine and comfort provisions around camp, while on-trail pointing out the lesser-known factual gems that surround you. The magic climaxes either on the final evening or the final morning, when you’ll climb the cables up Half Dome’s summit for a truly spectacular sunrise or sunset.

Dyson and John, our guides with Lasting Adventures were top notch. We did a 4 Day backpacking trip from Glacier Point to Half Dome. The experience, knowledge, skills, and motivation they portrayed during our trip, made us have an epic adventure. Fortunately, we were all (ages 54-64) able to summit Half Dome, which was a bucket list for all of us. Oh and their cooking was DELICIOUS. I never thought I would be eating tofu curry in the middle of the woods in Yosemite. I would highly recommend a guided tour with Lasting Adventures. It truly was a magnificent trip!

The entire experience was first class and outstanding! Our guides were Ella and Dyson - two remarkably professional, capable and knowledgeable guides. Not to mention just quality human beings. They live and shared the “leave no trace” philosophy. They shared their experience, park history and were supportive to all in our wide range of hikers. Not to mention their incredible back country cooking and meal prep skills. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks were tasty and plentiful. Summiting Half Dome and watching the sunset from the top was a special treat - as were the homemade donuts in the backcountry! Lasting Adventures provides quality gear for anything you don’t bring. I highly recommend this adventure with Lasting Adventures - be sure and ask for Ella and Dyson.

I was so excited for this trip, have been backpacking for years and ready to take on Half Dome (bucket list trip). They tell you in every correspondence to get travel insurance, DO IT! I didn't, ended up with a bulging disc the week before and couldn't go on the trip due to the 50lb backpack weight requirement. My friends had the best time and loved it. I lost $1800. GET INSURANCE!!!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave this important review as we cannot stress enough how important it is to have travel insurance should the unexpected happen. Travel Insurance is the best way to protect both your investment and our small non-profit when last minute cancellations are needed. Do note that when your cancellation request came in, it was flagged for my review/consideration as we do make excpetions to our Terms and Conditions quite often. (Unfortunately I was in the field and then ill the following week when you left this review.) However, as my email since did suggest, we have converted your amount paid to a credit for future use in any of the parks we operate in. It is our hope you return to cross half Dome off your bucket list. Thanks, -Scott
