What To Expect

Grand Canyon South Rim

Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.

Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim

Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time.

Yavapai Point

Starting near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, our first stop provides you with an introduction to the Grand Canyon and its geology. We will lay the foundation for the rest of the tour regarding the biblical events of the Flood found in Genesis and the significance of what we'll be exploring throughout our tour.

Grandview Point

Learn about the exciting Wild West people history at Grandview Point, with talks on mining both copper and tourist pockets in the early days of the Grand Canyon National Park development. Enjoy wide vistas and the distant Colorado River as we talk about the significance of the canyon and whether that river has the power to cut and remove this material.

Lipan Point

While taking in fantastic river views, including one of the canyon's largest rapids, we will talk about the Native American Ancestral Puebloans who lived far below on the Unkar Delta. At Lipan Point, we will also showcase the geological Great Unconformity, Cambrian Explosion, and the Tapeats Sandstone—all of which provide fantastic observable evidence for a global Flood. Learn about the mechanisms of the Flood from its onset, and how we believe the sedimentary rock layers were deposited through this year-long destructive event of biblical proportions!

Navajo Point

A lot of water, in a little bit of time. Learn about the carving of the Grand Canyon by what we call the "lake spillover" or "breached dam" model, something first proposed in geology all the way back in the 1800s and still held by both creation and some secular geologists alike today. See beyond the Grand Canyon to the distant Vermilion and Echo Cliffs of the Marble Platform and southeast to parts of the Painted Desert. Learn about the nearby historic Desert View Watchtower, completed in 1932.

Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim

After the tour, our guide will drop you off back at your vehicle at the Grand Canyon National Park Visitor Center, or wherever else you may have parked that day.

I took three tours, and this was by far the BEST! It was informative, fun, unrushed and had solid biblical content. I am looking forward to going back to the Grand Canyon so I can go on another tour with Canyon Ministries. Thank you to our amazing tour guide Luke! He taught us so much about the Grand Canyon, the history, the plants surrounding the canyon and a whole lot more. Thank you!

I highly recommend Canyon Ministries! Before the tour, my teenager, who loves geology and science, immediately set out to read as much as she could so she wouldn't be "brainwashed." I encouraged her to do her research. We arrived at Grand Canyon a day before the tour and did all the tourist stuff including a ranger talk. The first day on our own was just okay. The view was great, but we were a little bored. We didn't really know what to expect from the CM tour since we've seen the Canyon, more or less. Adam was our tour guide. He was engaging and knowledgeable. My daughter asked lots of questions to challenge him, and he answered them clearly and patiently. At the end of the four hours, the whole tour group wanted more and was happy that Adam took his time and showed us another scenic point. Day two at the Grand Canyon with Canyon Ministries was eye-opening, and it became the highlight of our entire road trip. Don't go to the Grand Canyon without booking a tour with them!

Our guide, Adam, was exceptional. He was both knowledgeable and personable, adding depth and insight to what we were witnessing in the Grand Canyon. I think it was to our advantage to take the morning tour as there were not lines of cars waiting to get in the park or difficulties with parking. The difference in the number of people and cars as we left 4 hours later was dramatic. It was a truly wonderful experience for all members of our family.
