The flight itself was good, but not exceptional. The pilot is very skilled (we have done several flights in the past) and the facility brand new. However, the experience was very much lessened by two passengers that were not wearing a mask. This is a tight enclosed space and masks should be mandatory or alternatively have distinct flights. It is basic common sense to wear them during COVID-19 but sadly in this case, the company is not enforcing it nor having protocols. Note that the flight is expensive compared to others covering the grand Canyon. In our case, the experience was ruined and it not possible to recommend it. There is more competition over the Grand Canyon with some companies enforcing safety measures.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your helicopter tour and the Pilot that flew your flight. Our goal is to provide a safe and pleasant tour environment inflight. When a booking is made, we clearly state in our reconfirmation email that face masks must be worn during the helicopter tour. We have encountered occasional situations where passengers remove masks during flight. Due to the configuration of the aircraft flown by a single Pilot, we have instructed our Pilots to focus on safety of flight, rather than get distracted in the event that a passenger removes their face mask. Our COVID-19 policy states; In the interests of safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, the wearing of face masks will be mandatory during your Zion or Bryce Canyon helicopter flight. Social distancing is not practiced whilst inside the aircraft. If you do not have a face mask, one will be provided complimentary. Note that the aircraft seat six (6) passengers plus the Pilot per flight. Although there are several helicopter operators at the Grand Canyon providing regulated flight routes, Zion Helicopters provides exclusive tours around Zion National Park that unite the astonishing beauty of Zion with the pure thrill of flight, as you soar over cliff tops and canyons. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused during your flight.

Being the first flight, our pilot loaded us and flew us, and I have to say he took our group pictures, I found this very humble of him to do all, because normally there is a ground crew. The flight was amazing, got us close to the mountains. Two things though, this helicopter is very tight for 4 people if you sit in the back. Also the 55 mile trip in the advertisement is misleading, it should give you air time in my opinion. Recommend!
