This was fun, but they fish for the ābig fishā, and they will try hard to find them. However, like any āfishingā, if they arenāt there or donāt bite, you will not catch them.
In 6 hours, we hooked two short billed spearfish (69ā long) and had a small female marlin checked out the lure, but she was too unsure and swam away. We saw a pod of pilot whales and a tiger shark named āLavernā. We kept a small portion of our catch and were able to find a place to cook it for us. THAT was delicious!
Bring sunblock and layered clothing, the weather can be unpredictable. If you get seasick, Bonine works well. They will provide small snacks and water, but if you want something else, you can bring it. There is a Texaco gas station with snack and hot foods, west of where you turn in to the marina.
Have fun!!! The water is deeeeepppp!!!! And you donāt have to go too far off shore to find that out.
