9/11 Memorial, Ground Zero Tour with Optional One World Observatory Ticket

Overview
This moving and evocative tour of Ground Zero begins at the site of what served as a rescue center for victims and place for mementos after the attacks: St. Paul's Chapel. This historic church was miraculously unharmed when the Twin Towers fell despite being only a block away.

You'll then walk to the 9/11 Memorial where we'll reflect on the lives lost in the World Trade Center attacks. See "Reflecting Absence," the largest artificial waterfalls on the continent. Your guide will share the meaning behind the memorial, stories from the day, and how New Yorkers came together in the aftermath.

From there, begin a self-guided tour in the lobby of the Freedom Tower by watching "Voices," a film dedicated to the men and women of the Twin Towers and Freedom Tower.

Upgrade your experience to take the "Sky Pod" elevator 1,250 feet up to the One World Observatory, where you can see the NYC skyline stretching across Manhattan.

I appreciated the candor and honesty of our guide, who had experienced 9/11 firsthand. I would recommend this tour. The views from the Freedom Tower were amazing!

The guide spent so much time relating his personal experiences that we were only able to see St Paul's Church for a few minutes and did not have the opportunity to see the churchyard.

Thank you for your feedback! This tour is intended to give you the personal experience from a local guide, as listed in our "Overview" for this tour:

"A local guide shares firsthand stories of the event and its aftermath while you visit 9/11-related sites such as St Paulā€™s Chapel, the Firemanā€™s Memorial and the reflecting pools, an homage to the thousands of lives lost."

As this tour is brief (1.5 hours for the walking tour portion) it is intended as an overview to go along with the poignant commentary of the local guide and their experiences.

We apologize that this experience was not to your expectations, but we do hope this information helps you, and future travelers in understanding the purpose of this tour and deciding which of our many tours may be best for you.
