What To Expect

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Native guides will lead you through the meandering bayou in a shady, spacious pontoons boat under a relaxing breeze. Learn about the swamp's ecosystem and all of its mysterious lore while viewing the gators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and snakes that call the swamp their home. If you are coming from New Orleans and need a hotel pick up, Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour offers pick-ups/drop-offs at select hotel locations for an additional fee. Please call for exact pick-up time/location options and to reserve your transport. All pickups are 1 hour prior to tour. There's a lunch option available for the 10 a.m. where you will dine at Restaurant Des Familes after your swamp adventure.

Captain Jason was an awesome guide around Jean Lafitte, he put us on so many gators, blue herons and even barn owls. I could’ve stayed on that pontoon all day. I will definitely book again when in NOLA!

It was a great experience and Captain Darrin was awesome - showed us a bald eagle nest, lots of gators and other birds. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND! a note that we did not rent a car and was concerned about uber availability - it was easy to get to and from the French Quarter with uber, so no worries there!
