What To Expect

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Native guides will lead you through the meandering bayou in a shady, spacious pontoons boat under a relaxing breeze. Learn about the swamp's ecosystem and all of its mysterious lore while viewing the gators, egrets, raccoons, nutria, and snakes that call the swamp their home. If you are coming from New Orleans and need a hotel pick up, Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour offers pick-ups/drop-offs at select hotel locations for an additional fee. Please call for exact pick-up time/location options and to reserve your transport. All pickups are 1 hour prior to tour. There's a lunch option available for the 10 a.m. where you will dine at Restaurant Des Familes after your swamp adventure.

Wonderful boat tour , got to see a lot of Gators and the swamp and bayous were beautiful. Our tour guide Jason was also great!

We had such a beautiful and informative tour! Our guide/captain, Jason, was very nice and knowledgeable about the swamp, having done tours for the past 20+ years and shared changes and info about the swamp and surrounding land that we otherwise wouldn’t have known. We saw so many alligators and many of them came right by the boat! I highly recommend going on Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours if you want to see alligators and other swamp wildlife, learn about the waterways and the environment while in/around New Orleans. A great experience enjoying nature respectfully and the creatures within it.

Enjoyed the relaxed view of the swamp and bayou. The driver didn't say a lot, which is a shame. We would like to have known more about the area. The office was closed when we finished, so there were about 3 groups of people struggling to sort out return journeys from the isolated place.
