I’ve been on several dinner cruises and have learned to try to just enjoy the experience and don’t expect a lot from the food. I was very pleasantly surprised as the food was excellent! It was served buffet style in a very nice dining room. The selection was great and included shrimp and grits (a personal favorite) and the prime rib was perfect. Cash bar, not outrageously priced. After dinner, we went to the top deck (bar there as well) and we were treated to a beautiful sunset.

Took the family on the riverboat and it was an enjoyable couple of hours on the river. The guide was very interesting and my kids loved all the trivia about shipping and history. Its not cheap but it is very well run and professional.

Hi all! Our family went on the Georgia Queen. The 3:30 pm narrated tour. They offer cruises with a buffet, but after reading other reviews we chose to eat off the boat and just do the narrated tour. This vessel is a little deceiving. It has the paddle on the back, and two smoke stacks making it appear as a steam boat, in reality is neither. My husband said it seemed to be a diesel vessel. I however did not know this until after booking and arriving to the boat. The first thing I did was go to the very top to look for the paddle to show the kids. I grew up going on and to the Bell of Louisville and always loved watching the paddle move. Well guess what the paddle on this boat was not able to even be seen from the top deck. I did not look on deck three and our tickets didn’t allow us on any other decks. Other than that they had two snack bars available to guests one inside and one out. Like I mentioned earlier it was a drizzling raining day. We were still able to sit outside most of the duration. They do have indoor air conditioned seating. They go in one direction for a brief while then turn and go the opposite direction a little ways past Fort Jackson. It was cool to see them shoot a cannon off from the Fort. It was also cool seeing all the big vessels and the host did a great job narrating the cruise. Overall it was a good cruise despite being wet. It was a good duration if it was any longer I probably would have feel asleep. The kids got a little bored with it ages 10 and 11zOther than that if you like narrated tours and to sit back and relax, this might be for you.
