A Drive through John Muir’s Yosemite Valley: A Self-Guided Audio Tour

John Muir and Yosemite are synonymous, immerse yourself in both at the same time with this driving tour.

• See the valley through the author’s eyes, descriptions plucked from the pages of Muir’s book, The Yosemite
• Hear from producer Fil Corbitt, a radio producer and audio artist based outside Reno, Nevada
• Do it all in 45 minutes or linger at stops along the way with complete control over when you start and finish
• Get unlimited use before your booking date and after it
• Use the virtual tour option at home

Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive a ticket with instructions and a unique code listed under “Before You Go”. Then simply install the VoiceMap app and enter your code.

The app displays directions to the starting point, and when you’re in the right place, just tap start. VoiceMap has automatic GPS playback, with turn-by-turn directions. It also works offline.

This self-guided driving tour takes place inside Yosemite National Park. It doesn't include entry but will enhance your experience by introducing you to John Muir's Yosemite.

See Yosemite Valley through the eyes and words of writer John Muir. As you drive, you'll hear his descriptions of the valley and what makes it so unique.

Tunnel View
This driving tour starts at Tunnel View. From there you can admire the Sierra Nevada mountains which Muir described as a “range of light”

Bridalveil Falls
On this tour, you'll see stunning views of Bridal Veil Fall which Muir said “seems infinitely gentle and fine; but the hymns it sings tell the solemn fateful power”

Half Dome
The tour takes in numerous sites including Half Dome.

Valley Visitor Center
The tour passes by the Valley Visitor Center.

Yosemite Falls
On this tour, you can look forward to taking in the impressive Yosemite Falls which, according to the author, have “the richest, as well as the most powerful, voice of all the falls of the Valley”

This audio did not work at all. Waste of money. If there’s no internet service in a known destination area, the audio should not be sold.

Hi Freda Did you download the tour before hand? In the download instructions provided, we recommend that you download the tour in a wifi zone. It can then be used offline. We're sorry you weren't able to enjoy the tour. Keep well, Alicia

So cool to hear John Muir's writing while you drive around yosemite! I'm not usually a fan of tours, but this one felt different and more personal. Instead of facts its all well written literature. Would definitely take this tour again
