On our second visit to Hawaii, we decided a Lua'u would be a great way to close-out our vacation...NOT this one!!!
We waited in-line for drinks on the way in, perhaps when the bartender offered my husband and I 2 Mai Tais each to start, that should have been a clue that they were trying to "lubricate" guests before the buffet opened.
Once we got our drinks, we had to find a place to sit. There were 4 of us so in order to sit together, we ended up sitting at a table that was on a hill sloping downward and the view of the stage was blocked by palm trees.
After about 30 minutes of waiting, it was our turn to get in line for the buffet- to say the food was horrible would be an understatement. We paid $130+ tax each for iceberg lettuce, pineapple, white rice, a steamed vegetable mix and "beef" and "pork" that we were convinced was roadkill scraped from the side of the Queen K. The meal was so bad, we decided to cut out losses and leave before the show began. SAVE YOUR $$$!!
