What To Expect

Arkansas River Tours

You will arrive are out Canon City location, check in with our friendly reservation staff, meet your guide for the day, be outfitted with necessary rafting gear, go through an in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a short 5-10 min ride to the river put in

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Once you arrive at the river you will be given specific instructions by your guide and then hit the river for an amazing adventure. You will float through the world famous Royal Gorge! Amazing views of the Royal Gorge Bridge and amazing whitewater on this trip. This is the premiere trip on the Arkansas River!

We try do the Royal Gorge rafting level 4-5 with Arkansas River Tours 2-3 times every summer! One of our favorite things to do!!! Thanks rivher guide Billy ... fun time today

We had a great time rafting the Arkansas today! Kyle was and excellent guide...funny, interesting, and very calm & collected when one of our raft members was tossed over the side and under the boat on one of the biggest rapids. His quick action made it much less scary than it could have been. She was no worse for the ware and joined back in the paddling almost immediately. :-) Would like to do the 2 day tour with ART someday!

ART is a smaller whitewater rafting tour operator that goes the extra mile to give their guests a great experience from the start of the day until the end. We were with our guide, Calvin, for 2 days of rafting. The first day was a full day on the Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip—which was a great warm up for our second day of rafting down the Royal Gorge. Calvin is the man! He is a great guide with a sharp sense of humor and amazing rafting skills. We got to watch his EMT skills first hand as he rescued a swimmer that had fallen out of a different boat. World class operation. I’ll be back on the Arkansas River, but only with ART.
