I’m giving this one star for the Frederick Douglas house which was wonderful to see and the National park tour guide that we had at the house was wonderful. The rest of the tour was terrible and that was because of our guide. We did not learn anything that was in the description of the tour. He obviously didn’t know anything about the history that we had paid a good amount of money to learn. It was a complete waste of time. I felt very bad for the families who brought their children. I’m sure this could be a wonderful tour with a guide who knows what it is about. Yes, the African American museum at the end was wonderful but not worth the time that I wasted sitting on this bus listening to jibber jabber. If you find that your guide is Kenny you need to cancel and get your money back.

I heard about the Statue and always wanted to see it. But my time was short, I had a 20 minutes stay around and had a few photos. It is great to be back there, sometime in the near future.

This experience is one of a kind and thoroughly worth the time. We had already seen the monuments the day before but hearing the history and re-discovering them through the African American perspective was worth it. We also got to visit spots we didn't have on our list and it culminates with access to the Museum which is worth the price alone based on the fact that you can't get in to the museum within 3 months. The museum is amazing and you will need a long time to get through it. Tour guide was knowledgeable, cared about his city, and ran a tight ship.
