This 90-minute narrated harbor cruise of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay will have you cruising in comfort as you enjoy a scenic tour of Newport and Jamestown. Guests of the morning cruise enjoy a complimentary mimosa, fresh-brewed coffee or juice. Afternoon cruisers are offered a complimentary Rhode Island specialty: Del's lemonade or a coffee "cabinet" shake. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Strollers and care seats are not allowed on board, but can be stored in the ticket booth.
Wheelchair access down the dock to the boat, must be able to manage 3 steps to get on and off the boat. Wheelchair cannot come aboard, it can be stored in the ticket booth. Please advise if assistance is needed.
Please dress appropriately to current weather conditions

For your safety please wear soft soled shoes. No heels allowed
Minimum drinking age is 21 years old
All passengers are required to be checked in at the ticket booth 20-25 minutes prior to departure time to receive a boarding pass.

This is the second time my husband and I have taken this tour on the Gansett. The first time we booked it when we got to Newport. This time we booked online. I would recommend booking online. Many times it’s sold out. That being said it’s a beautiful relaxing and educational tour. Our guide Christopher was very entertaining. Great sense of humor. I would recommend sitting on top for the best views. Great breeze once the boat gets going. I took over 100 pics on a gorgeous day. The tour is 90 minutes long which is perfect. You’ll really enjoy the views!

We've been coming to Newport regularly for almost 40 years now and always try and catch a harbor cruise if the weather is nice. Gansett is by far the best. Johnny our tour guise was fantastic!

I've been on many tours--boats, walking, trolley--and this is the first one where the guide irritated me with his jokes. He kept kidding about the wealth of the original Newport founders, an us vs them unprofessional attitude. I wanted more history and facts. The boat was terrific, complimentary drink a nice touch, and the audio just fine. Go if you luck out with a different guide.

We’re sorry you felt your particular tour guide didn’t provide more history and facts. What’s the expression, “humor is a funny thing?” We have eight different guides, each of whom has their own style, but all try to blend the factual with a bit of light-hearted fun during the 90 minute cruise. As you note from the countless 5 star Trip Advisor reviews and the Gansett’s certificate of excellence, the right balance is usually struck. We do hope you’ll return to experience our award-winning cruise again – perhaps with a different guide!
