What To Expect

Kachemak Bay State Park

Take a 2-hour (or longer) trip out on the water, catered to whatever your interests might be. Go see humpback and orca whales, birds, sea otters, or just check out the landscape as you cruise into deeper bays that push up against mountains and waterfalls. You can even choose what time of day to go. Are you into photography? Tailer your trip, depart early morning or late evening to capture images in the best light.

We chose Coldwater Alaska for a last minute water taxi trip to the Grewingk Glacier Lake/Saddle Cove trail on 7/27/21. We reached out to them late on 7/26 and could still accommodate us. They were super flexible and friendly. The trip itself was a blast. We had a very friendly and entertaining captain who briefed us on all the details and expertly dropped us off at the trailhead. On our way there he even made time to spot some wildlife (Orca's and a Salmon Shark). Very passionate! Great trip all around!

We booked Coldwater Taxi to bring us across the Kachemak Bay from Homer to where all the best hikes are! The only way to hike in Homer is to take a water taxi across the bay to the park, and Coldwater is probably the most professional and reliable service. I highly recommend taking Coldwater to Kayak beach and hiking up Grace Ridge trail! It’s a gorgeous hike if you’re up for 3,000ft of elevation. Captain Chanterelle brought us across the bay and Captain Patrick picked us up. Both were absolutely fun/adventurous/wonderful people! They were on time/early and everything about our trip was smooth and easy.

We hired 3 hours of tour.Good boat, comfortable and spacious.Magnificent Captain Zac, sailed and searched whales to find them. He taught us the fauna and flora of the area. Highly recommended
