The weather was not cooperative but we learned a great deal about local life and culture. Owner operated van and she was great.

Our guide, Katlyn, promptly called us as we approached the meeting area. I had no clue that our tour was going to be a private tour for just the 2 of us! Katlyn drove us to an area near the water and we walked over mussels and seaweed to view beautiful starfish, crabs, jellyfish, anemones, and sea urchins! Then she drove us to Herring Cove to look for bears. Didn't see any but there were plenty of trout in the water below the fish hatchery. After that she drove up to Rainbow Falls. On the way back we stopped again at Herring Cove for one final look for bears (no luck!) Our guide was very knowledgeable about local animals as she and her family are 3rd generation Ketchikan residents. Katlyn was very personable with lots of information about the area. Highly recommend!

Walking on a rocky beach to see tiny crabs and starfish was not my idea of "Alaskan wildlife". Waterfall was pretty but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately no bears!

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your tour. Ketchikan does not have sandy beaches unless we have a very low tide. Most people enjoy seeing the different colored starfish and crab up close. Southeast Alaska has much different wildlife than other parts of Alaska. We also can not guarantee the wildlife we do our best to time it right but they are still wild.
