Alcatraz Inside and Golden Gate Bridge Express Visit

Overview

Enjoy two same day San Francisco experiences — a round trip express excursion to the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side) by minibus from Fisherman’s Wharf with an assigned time visit inside Alcatraz cellhouse.

Basic Tour departs Fisherman's Wharf to experience 45 minutes at the Golden Gate Bridge (SF side). There is also an option to upgrade in advance to visit the other side of the bridge in addition to San Francisco side or to choose a small group van experience. No food included.

Guests can upgrade to the "Walk The Bridge with Brunch" option where we drop guests at the other side of the bridge to which guests have TWO HOURS to walk back to the San Francisco side. Their efforts are rewarded with a $10 brunch credit and pick up at the Bridge Restaurant.

Light History Narration and Television Monitor Documentaries will be provided.
Guests will be dropped off directly at Pier 33 Alcatraz or Wharf.
Some dates may start with Alcatraz followed by Golden Gate Bridge.

What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

Step back in time and experience the legendary island that has been a civil war fort, a military prison and one of the most notorious federal penitentiaries in US history. This memorable tour includes: 45 minute audio presentation "Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour," featuring actual correctional officers and prisoners who lived and worked on the Island; orientation video by Discovery Channel; ranger and docent tours; historic gardens and abundant wildlife.

Golden Gate Bridge

Round trip transportation from Fisherman's Wharf across the Golden Gate Bridge (one half hour each way) with a 30 minute stop over for pictures on the other side at Vista Point. Return to Fisherman's Wharf. Total van event is estimated 90 minutes* (allow for traffic/accidents/delays)

The tour to the Golden Gate Bridge. Our tour guide James went above being a great tour guide. He was very informative about the bridge and gave us plenty of time to view it as well as shopping at the gift store. He also told us about other sites as we passed them to the bridge. When we were done he returned us to our next location tour and suggested pier 39 for a quick lunch. Thanks James we enjoyed talking with you.

We loved the Golden Gate experience. The van is superior to any I have seen. First class all the way. The van driver was professional and helpful. The video about the bridge is captivating. The driver took us right ti Pier 33 for our Alcatraz tour. Well organized experience!

I really enjoyed the time at Alcatraz Island. But the experience of the van was anoying, the van was delayed 30 minutes, the driver just let us at the Bridge and came Back to pick us un after 1 hour...I could go to do that by myself

Drivers are not allowed to wait in a white unloading zone. He must park in a parking lot space like a guest would. It is similar to an airport where police ask everyone to keep moving. Your driver stayed the entire time at the bridge with you parked and never left. He then picked your group up at the time that was scheduled. We hold and wait as part of our package and that is the selling point. This package is not intended to be purchased by those with cars that can do this on their own. This package was created with those who want a quick Alcatraz/ bridge experience without the hassle of expensive parking, finding a parking spot or hiring an expensive Uber that does not wait.
