What To Expect

Alcatraz Island

Once you take the ferry over to Alcatraz Island and you are dropped off, you will make your way up to the main prison building, where you receive an audio headset, and the audio tour will guide you through the Alcatraz Prison. Once the audio tour is over, you can continue taking pictures and exploring the Island, or you can walk back down to the ferry landing and hop on the next ferry headed back to San Francisco. The Alcatraz tour typically takes 2-3 hours to enjoy.

We were over charged by you and it ruined our trip , when we found out what everyone paid for the same tour. I am furious on your over charged rate that you charged me . I have notified Amex of this exorbitant amount that you charged me and I am disputing the amount

The audio guided tour through the cell house was exceptional. The audio included personla stories and experiences by both correctional officers and inmates. This feature made the experience feel more personal. In addition, the greeting we received on the dock by the park rangers was informative and nice. We enjoyed the story of John Giles, told by a volunteer park ranger. It was only scheduled to be told once, so we arrived just in time for the presentation. If more tourists/visitors had an opportunity to hear the story, I believe it would be of value to the overall experience on The Rock
