What To Expect

Aquinnah Cliffs

See the maestic Clay Cliffs and Gay Head Lighthouse. We spend time here for shopping, eating and sightseeing.

Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

Learn all about the Gingerbread Cottages in the Methodist Campgrounds, See the iron Tabernacle and some of its original seats from the 1800s, The Pink House and The home where President Grant gave a speech. Get a feel of what it was like back then by going into the museum and getting up close and personal with the artifacts from long ago.

Our Tour Guide Sharkey was excellent. There was a lot of information covered, a lot of history about the island. However, on the bus ride there really isn't a lot to see. The houses are all hidden by a lot of trees. Most of the ride was driving by trees and greenery. The flowers are beautiful but not really what we thought we were there for. We were glad to visit Martha's Vineyard and I'm not sure if there is another way to see more of the island. I don't know what we would have done if we didn't to the bus ride. We were only there for one day. We did have a wonderful lunch at Nancy's and the view was beautiful. My tip would be to try to get the tour that lets you off for 1/2 hour and shop a little.

The tour guide needed to be a bit more in tune with who he was driving; mentioning Spike Lee never smiles and is not nice to a bus filled with black people is not necessary. In addition, him pointing out confederate statues or plaques, black segregated beaches should be avoided whenever possible. My opinion

EXCUSE ME PETER NEARY ..... YOU ARE TRULY 100% MISINFORMED AND WERE ON THE WRONG BUS.... let me tell you something our Af/Am history is our most treasured, if you cant handle it then you should go back to school and learn all about slavery and how imp it is to our vineyard.... YOU SOUND PRETTY RACIST TO ME.... who do you think you are??????? and one more thing: IF YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH, THEN YOU SHOULDNT BE ON A HISTORY TOUR.....

Very knowledgeable driver and tour guide and good personality. We enjoyed hearing about the history and the stop at the working fishing village.
