Alaska Canopy Adventures provided an wonderful experience! This was my first time ever doing a zipline and I will most certainly go again. This was the only day of my vacation in Alaska that rained but I think that only made the experience that much more enjoyable. Met with the guide in downtown and she took the group down to the boat where there was a short ridet across to Douglas Island. From there we all climbed aboard a big truck that took us up to the station to be outfitted with our lines and safety gear. Once all geared up it was a short hike through the rainforest to the start of the ziplines. The rainy day made it a true rainforest experience and you can go super fast on wet lines. There were two staff members who ensured our safety at all times and were very fun to talk with. For those afraid of heights there is no pressure only encouragement and a lot of fun to be had. All the while if you pay attention you can see remnants of the abandoned mines you are above the entire adventure. At the end you repel down by base camp, remove your gear and the boat is waiting to take you back to downtown Juneau. A few highlights of this zipline, you are allowed to "brake" yourself, that is you control your own speed which not all ziplines allow. They also take a picture at the beginning with the entire group as well as a solo action shot on the final zipline. Both of these are available to purchase after, however I booked my trip online and got a discount by prepaying for the photo. If it is your first zipline I recommend the photo, it goes wonderfully with the medal you get for completing the adventure. I would definitely recommend this to anyone stopping in Juneau! For those stopping on a cruise the entire adventure is a little over three hours and the staff is very punctual.
