We (myself and my 20 year old son) had a great time. Eric helped me to see things in the Garden of the Gods park that I have not seen before and my son saw the topics he learned about in his college geology class in action. Anyone can go see the park, Eric will help you understand the park!

It was a lot of fun seeing how the evidence of the past were preserved in the remains of the current landscape. Eric was excellent in “transporting” us on what happened millions of years ago. My high schooler even is considering applying to the university where Eric teaches. I love the small loop, don’t miss !

The whole tour through Garden of the Gods was awesome! Eric was very helpful from the get go, directing us to the starting point and welcoming us upon arrival. He is very knowledgeable and I could tell he truly enjoys talking rocks! We started with a pleasant little hike where he explained the “how” this truly extraordinary geology came about, and the “what” we where actually looking at (i.e. ocean beds, algae mats, sand dunes, river sediment, etc) . The next part of the tour lead us up a ridge where we explored hidden fossils along the trail’s edge, some dating back 300 million years! For visitor and local residents alike, this tour provides picturesque views, amazing sites and a great introduction into the geology of this truly extraordinary landscape. My 73 year old mother joined the tour as well, and also loved it!
