Overview

Antelope Canyon X, located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Arizona, is named after the Xs carved into the Navajo Sandstone created by millions of years of rainfall and wind. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon.

Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two.

Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

Tour is too short. $ too pricey and our tour guild has no passion to tell us everything. I would like to see more and learn more about this Antelope Canyon. The hike can be more interesting.

Walking in the canyons, seeing the ancient sand dunes, cut by water over millennia was amazing! Our guide Van T was a wizard at taking pictures and shoes us many great tips! An unforgettable experience!
