Alyeska Pipeline Viewing Point
We begin our 14-hour long journey to the Arctic Circle with a convenient pick up at any hotel or address inside the city limits of Fairbanks or North Pole. Settle into your seat and relax on the 200 mile (322 km) journey down the back roads of Interior Alaska. We provide free snacks and drinks to ensure your utmost comfort in our climate-controlled vans.   Take a trip back in time as you travel down the Dalton Highway. Featured on the TV show Ice Road Truckers, the Dalton Highway (technically Alaska Route 11) runs north-south through Alaska, nearly all the way to the Arctic Ocean, and parallels the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. It’s one of the most isolated roads in the United States and provides some beautiful Alaskan scenery for you to enjoy during the ride. With sweeping views of mountains and valleys, you will see the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline System (TAPS), one of the largest pipeline systems, transporting thousands of gallons of oil from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, up close.

Your driver will pull over at several different spots, including the Tolovana River and Wickersham Dome.
3
James Dalton Highway
Travel the remote Dalton Highway to Mile Post 115 to the Arctic Circle Campground.

I can not believe anyone would give this tour more than a 1. You could not hear what the tour guide was saying during the whole trip unless you were in the front row or maybe the second row.I commented several times i could not hear what he was saying. Even though he offered for people to rotate seats, no one from the front would give up their seats. I was never offered warm drinks unless it was from the river camp which was not clear to me if you paid for them or not.. we never saw the northern lights. the only part of the artic circle was off the side of the road with a sign saying artic circle. it was not worth $225.

Dear Madam, Thank you for your review. First of all, I want to let you know, that we appreciate when customers send us a constructive review. It helps us to improve our business. As you can see on all the reviews on TripAdvisor, (92 % of them are excellent), we love to provide the best service to our customers. So all the feedbacks are very helpful. I apologize, that it took us a while to write a response. As I wanted to talk to the other customers from this tour, it needed some time to receive their information’s. All of these guests loved the tour and especially the knowledge from our Guide. Even with not seeing the Northern Lights, they received so many Infos about this beautiful state that they have been absolutely satisfied. That’s the feedback from the other guests who were travelling with you. But they also agreed that there was no seat rotation. As you said, our Guide offered this to everybody, but some customers didn’t want to give up their seats and I am sorry about their behaviour. I personally will take care that seat rotation will be mandatory. As we all the time improve our service and business, I just returned from a meeting with engineers in Canada. In the past, we tried multiple different sound systems, and so far none of them worked 100% well. The engineers developed a high-end solution, designed especially for our needs and the type of Van’s that we use. Our goal is always to provide the best service to our customers. I hope that this addresses your concerns, and you may consider giving Alaska Wildlife Guide LLC another chance in the future. In the meantime the best wishes Rainer Zahnen (Owner)

I took this tour in March, when the daytime is not as long as it is in April. Our tour guide was Lynley who was awesome. She picked us up from the various hotels and then we were on our way to the Arctic circle. Along the way she shared many stories about some of the local residents in bush towns, winter life, and her various adventures on her tours. She drove for hours and hours, with a running commentary of the various places, taking care of all the folks in the van, chatting with the truck drivers over radio along the way, while having a smile on her face all the time. She stopped at various vantage points so that everyone could get a good look at the sky. Although it was cloudy that night and the moon was full, we didn't see the northern lights clearly and obviously. Overall it was very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it to others.

I did this tour a few days ago, our tour guide Lynley was incredible!! She was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the experience despite having journeyed that trek on numerous occasions. One of the things I was most impressed about was the way she was able to calmly and confidently manouvre the challenging terrain of the Dalton Highway without a panic, even in the midst of ground winds of up to 60 mph that were hitting hard on our vehicle. She was adventurous and encouraged us to engage in activities such as sledding down the frozen Yukon River amongst other things. Her upbeat tempo never dwindled, and as we all drifted off to sleep on the way back, after the long journey, she kept her eyes peeled until lady aurora finally appeared and pulled over for us to get the best snaps of it. The lunches packed for us were also quite tasty! I could go on and on, but just to conclude this was an amazing experience with this company and our Tour Guide Lynley. Great Job! - Abigail Mo
