What To Expect
1
Pack Square
An Asheville mayor killed himself in the Jackson building. How may people have jumped from the top? And why is there a bulls-eye on the sidewalk below? Learn about the ghoul of the old jail, Thomas Wolfe's ghost, Helen's Bridge, and more!
2
Grove Arcade
Hear the controversial story of the murder of Helen Clevenger in the Battery Park Hotel, and why a blood-red haze is said to appear around her murder-room window on the anniversary of the tragedy.
3
Basilica of Saint Lawrence
This building's architect is entombed in the wall of this church, and his apparition is seen roaming in the night, gazing, in awe, at the world-class dome he constructed with a secret method.
4
Thomas Wolfe Memorial
The spirits of the great author (Look Homeward, Angel), and his brother, roam the halls of this storied mansion. Thomas Wolfe even wrote about spirits before he died at age 37. Wait till you hear the full story!
5
Pritchard Park
This is where troops rallied before the "Battle of Asheville" in the Civil War. Southern ghosts still violently shove some people to the ground, and spectral drums are heard beating in the night.

Don't call it a HAUNTED GHOST TOUR if it's not about HAUNTINGS or GHOSTS! I researched this tour thoroughly before buying it through Groupon. The results were NOT what was described. Our tour guide Tad is a great story teller, it's too bad none of his stories were scary or involved ghosts - as advertised. We expected to go inside the Basilica, as advertised, and see a museum with artifacts, as advertised, and handle real ghost-hunting equipment, as advertised - but we got none of this. The tour involved 4 stops and four lengthy "stories" told by the very-animated Tad. Only two were interesting. I don't know if we booked the wrong tour (doubtful) or if we got the wrong guide (possible) but Tad had our name on his list. Bottom line: I've been on ghost tours in different cities before and this was the worst I've experienced. Not Scary, or even really paranormal, whatsoever. I definitely would NOT recommend this one.

As the owner of the tour, I was surprised to find that one of our third-party ticket sellers was offering this tour, through Groupon, with outdated information. The museum has been closed almost two years, and that information is clearly presented on our site. We do not enter any buildings, and have never claimed we go into the Basilica. I have contacted Groupon today to make sure the information is updated ASAP to clarify that we do not enter any building and no ghost hunting equipment is involved. Thank you for bringing this incorrect Groupon listing to my attention. As far as the storytelling goes, I'm glad everyone reading this can see how many "Excellent" reviews we have.

It was a great experience! The guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. I enjoyed it because it was very historical and scientific even. You can tell that a lot of paranormal research was put into this, unlike other ghost tours which are usually based on hearsay and folklore.
