What To Expect
1
Pack Square
An Asheville mayor killed himself in the Jackson building. How may people have jumped from the top? And why is there a bulls-eye on the sidewalk below? Learn about the ghoul of the old jail, Thomas Wolfe's ghost, Helen's Bridge, and more!
2
Grove Arcade
Hear the controversial story of the murder of Helen Clevenger in the Battery Park Hotel, and why a blood-red haze is said to appear around her murder-room window on the anniversary of the tragedy.
3
Basilica of Saint Lawrence
This building's architect is entombed in the wall of this church, and his apparition is seen roaming in the night, gazing, in awe, at the world-class dome he constructed with a secret method.
4
Thomas Wolfe Memorial
The spirits of the great author (Look Homeward, Angel), and his brother, roam the halls of this storied mansion. Thomas Wolfe even wrote about spirits before he died at age 37. Wait till you hear the full story!
5
Pritchard Park
This is where troops rallied before the "Battle of Asheville" in the Civil War. Southern ghosts still violently shove some people to the ground, and spectral drums are heard beating in the night.

Overall the ghost walk was good - the guide educated us on a few Asheville ghost stories and their history. None of the stories were particularly eerie or scary which is what I usually expect on ghost walks. My biggest complaint would be the size of the tour - there were way too many people on the walk at one time. We were clogging the streets and walking in a huge horde which made it difficult to stay together and also to hear and see the tour guide at times. I would suggest in the future to cap out the number of participants to create a more intimate experience.

This was a fantastic tour not only for the ghost stories but the history behind the stories. And having a knowledgeable tour guide just adds to the enjoyment of it. I have to give props to my friend from Medford,NJ.... St. Mary of the Lakes!! Most remembrial moment ever š

I loved hearing the history of the town; Tad was an incredible story teller and brought fun and knowledge to the evening.
He was super adaptable and seemingly unphased by the live shootout that was happening nearby.
The only thing I didnāt like was the number of people on the tour. Sometimes it was hard to hear the stories and when we went down to the museum, it was almost impossible to move around and explore the collected history - not good when youāre claustrophobic.
